Venetian Terrazzo Island
We have done 100’s of countertops that do not get featured on our gallery section. What is unique about this one is that it is a massive 14′ cast in place venetian terrazzo install. It utilizes Canadian Pink, Red Verona, White Carrera, and Blue Bardigio 3/4″ aggregates in a white matrix.
Cast in place terrazzo
The island was formed in place and layered with terrazzo aggregates in lifts. Once it was cured a rail saw was utilized to cut clean crisp edges and reveal the large venetian aggregate.
Arbutus butcher block
Knockouts were placed in the form to allow for the support of a 150lb arbutus butcher block that cantilevers out from the cabinets and flush with the counter. The choice of aggregate blends in the counter ties in all the other colours in the home, including the arbutus, and the wood flooring.
