Oak Bay Stair Restoration
Failing Painted Concrete Stairs
Victoria Stone Design recently completed a restoration of a stair/ entrance of a Oak Bay home. The concrete stairs had been painted many times and were completely failing. The concrete had shifted and cracked. We started by removing the paint and fixing the bad cracks and uneven surface.
Leaking landing pad
The landing pad was unsightly vinyl, leaking and causing water damage. We installed a water proof uncoupled membrane and poured Ardex k521. A nosing piece was formed for a nice front profile.
Ardex CD fine
Once the landing was poured, the stairs and risers got multiple treatments of ardex CD fine. 3 layers were built up and sanded in between coats. ARDEX CD FINE™ is a concrete resurfacing compound modified with high-performance polymers for exceptional bond strength.

- Resurface worn and spalled concrete to provide a “new concrete” finish
